A 13 year old kid climbs Mt. Everest!

This article is about a 13 year old kid that climbed Mt. Everest. He has climbed 6 of the 7 highest peaks. The second youngest to climb Mt. Everest was a kid from Nepal, he was 16 years old and Jordan Romero is only 13!!! The first time he ever climbed a summit was when he was 9 years old in 2005 when he climbed the Kilimanjaro!! He is a very, very brave kid.
The author of this article is really positive and happy that this kid has climbed 6 of the 7 summits.

Suicide Bomber

There has been a suicide bomber at Kabul,Afghanistan. The Taliban is responsible for this horrible attack, killing 18 people and injuring 48. Five of those people were American troops, one was Canadian and all the rest were civilians. It is sad that a nearby field ended up full of body parts. Besides people, five American military vehicles were damaged. Bill Burton said that the attack was a reminder of why the American soldiers sacrifice themselves every day.
How could the Taliban do something like that? They are stopping their country from developing. I agree with Bill Burton, it is amazing that although bad people exist, there are still very good people how are willing to sacrifice their lives to help Afghanistan.
The author probably believes the Taliban are doing wrong actions. He also believes, the military soldiers are doing a risky job, but, they are helping a lot.

Pearl River Contamination

http://edition.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/asiapcf/04/26/china.denim.water.pollution/index.html
The Pearl River at China has been so contaminated, it looks black. A lot of factories happen to be there. The most believed-to-be contaminating factory is a blue jean factory. The factory produces about 200 million jeans per year. It is noticeable that this factory is causing damages since a satellite can show the black water surrounding it. The process in which jeans are turning blue can result in wastes such as a cocktail of dye, bleach and detergent. The jean factory has to start thinking about solutions before the Chinese government shots them out. Other things contaminating it are debris (broken parts) and the bodies of pigs. The contamination is dangerous since fish can get polluted and damage those who eat it.
For my opinion this problem on China is very important and someone has to do something for solving the problem like for example the factory could care more and recycle things and the acids could be deposited on another place. For my opinion you can’t only blame that factory maybe other houses or people are contaminating the river. The author thinks that this can be very dangerous because the fish could eat the toxic things or liquids and then humans can eat those fish and die.

Russia Cancelled the Adoption for the US!

After a US family sent his adopted-russian 7 year old son back to Russia by himself. The Russian government decided not to let US families adopt in Russia. The US is really trying to convince the Rusiinas to give the permission back to them. I don't think this is a very good idea because the US has aopted about 50,000 children from Russia. My opinion about this is that they shoukld take they adoption permission for a little while just so they learn their lesson, and then they give the permission back. The author thinks that this is not fair becasuse the US has adopted alot of children and just because of 1 kid that was sent back to Russia they cancell the permission.

Thailand Holiday is Canceled

Unfortunately, three day Thailand New Year festivals at Thailand were canceled by the government because of protests. These protesters are anti-government and result deadly. They are called, Red Shirts. On the protests, 21 people have died, 17 people were Thailand citizens and four were militants. A violent massacre happened on Saturday where the military and the police used tear gas and rubber bullets against the protesters. One killed was a Japanese cameraman. The Red Shirts want Abhisit Vejjajiva to quit, since he has been a dictator and they don't want dictators to rule the county.
Opinion: I believe the government should give them democracy, The Red Shirts are right about that. I read an article where it says that they support Taksin, I do not believe in supporting him at all because of his believes. The Red Shirts do have the right to fight, as all humans have. Unfortunately, this situation is being violent.
The writer probably believes both sides are doing wrong. He probably believes the government had to take this measurements. Although, he also believes The Red Shirts are right about protesting about the government.

There has recently been a huge mine accident at the United States. It happened at the Massey Energy Co. in Montocoal, Virginia. This tragic accident included the death of at least 25 people. Nobody knows what the reason for this accident is. There has been a case of a mine accident on 2007 at a mine called Grandall Canyon, Utah, 6 miners were trapped. This is believed to be a criminal act. Many more mine accidents have happened at the USA. During time, mines have become a safer place. In the past, many more people would die of mine accidents than today. For example, on December 6, 1907, 362 people died because of the accident. Now, about 5 people die per accident.
My opinion about this is that its better that people are now safer inside the caves and that less people are dying. I also think that caves are really dangerous because it can fall anytime because its dirt.

What the author thinks of this is that there have been many accidents and its dangerous but it just a normal thing.

Tuberculosis

The disease is a big killer. The medicines used to cure this disease cost $20,000, which makes it quite hard to cure the disease. Two billion people have a chance to suffer this disease. Many of these people are people living in jails. This is because of the bad nutrition and treatment the prisoners are suffering. It has been said that by fixing the prisons, less money will be wasted than by treating the disease on all the people. Organizations are treating tuberculosis at Africa, Latin America, Caucasus, and at Central Asia.
Opinion:
I do believe something most be done about this. Not only on the prison situation, but, also with the bad nutrition and treatment some kids are suffering. Separate organizations should do this not only the government. The author believes that the best way to prevent tuberculosis is by fixing the treatment people get at jail.

Attacks at Nigeria

Some 200 christian villagers were assassinated. The murderers are believed to be Muslims by people who suffered the attack. About 78 million people from Nigeria are Muslims, this is about half of the population of Nigeria Other people believe this attack was made because of the different ethnicity and because of the natural resources. The government said it will try to capture the people who are guilty for this accident. Police have captured 98 people related with other Muslims attacks.
The author believes this destroyed a lot of Nigeria and that something should be done.
I believe you can't ignore this problem and that something huge should be done. I hope they capture the ones who are guilty for this. It is a horrible attack. The author believes that this was a horrible event.

Toyota Accident

A 29 year old man was driving with her pregnant wife, father, daughter, brother, and niece using the 1996 Toyota Camry. He was trying to make the car stop by pressing the break, but, instead, the car accelerated to about 70 to 90 miles per hours. This made him crash with the cars that were waiting beside the stop sign. He accidentally killed 5 people. Experts checked the car and nothing was wrong with the breaks. Koua Fong Lee, the man who caused the accident claims he is innocent. Many people believe him since he wouldn't try to kill his family. After this accident, many similar accidents with Toyota cars have been reported. People are trying to sue Toyota and many victims of the crash are starting to believe Koua is innocent.
Opinion
I don't think Koua did it on porpouse, but, I do believe he is guilty. He probably stepped on the acceleration instead of the car. I believe the athour doesn't believe Koua was guilty.

Its been a month, but it feels much longer

This article is about a guy that was a reporter who had just gone back home from Haiti when the terrible disaster occurred, he waited for a week to go by and then went back to Haiti for three weeks. He says that even though its just been a month, for the Haitians it feels like its been a year. When he went back home to his home town he saw that no one even talked about the Haiti disaster anymore. He says that while he was there the people didn't just care about the food they cared about praying for the people that were lost during the disaster. He also says that Haitians still have along way to go and that. He says that humans have a brain that functions to get used to things and move on, ans this s why people don't care anymore abut6 Haiti because they when the disaster passes everyone was trying to help but now that its been a month people moved on and remember that Haiti still has a long way to go until everything is back to normal. The author is actually the one who was the reporter, the author feels sad because he really cares about Haiti and he says that after going there and seeing how people really live he feels he needs to help.My opinion is that the author is right because lots of people don't even care anymore.

Terrorist Attacks at India

India has suffered an attack at Mumbai. 164 people died because of this horrible attack. Militants in Pakistan have been blamed for this attack. The leaders of the country's will meet at New Delhi on February 25, 2010. It is believed that this attack will make a conflict between India and Pakistan. The U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates believes there will be another attack.

Pakistan people should somehow stop hating Indians. This will help both countries a lot, not only India. I really hope there will be no more attacks against India. The author believes this is something people should be extremely concerned about. You can't ignore this huge problem, something should be done against terrorists.

missile launch failed.

This was on Sunday 31 of January. The military tested 2 missiles. In this test both missiles were launched at the same time. The flight was very good, the only problem was that they failed the target so the missiles were a failure. The military had said that it failed because of the radar. They say the radar like confused and made the missiles fail the target. But now they do not know exactly why the missiles failed.

I think the author was sad because of the failure, I can tell this because of all the comments he said in the article. I am very unsurprised by the missiles failing.

Obama Satisfaying People

Many Americans aren't feeling so good about how Obama is taking care of the county. 50 percent of the people of USA believe Obama isn't doing a good job and 49 percent say he is. 55 percent of the American people believe Obama isn't focusing in the important duties. 60 percent believes Obama isn't focusing on the people from the middle class.
In my opinion, Americans are right about being disappointed with Obama. American citizens were mistaken by their choice and a lot of them know that. They should choose a president that would give them more freedom.
The author believe it's amazing for people to disagree with what many people think.

Carbon Cutting: Should we capture and store it?

This article says that people are really starting to care about global warming, and the thing they are most worried about is the pollution that the factories create. People say that it is great that we have started to solar and wind powered energy but that for factories it to hard to use them as a source of energy so what they want to do is that instead of letting all the waste of the CO2{carbon dioxide) go to the ozone they will store it under ground. They say that if they do this that in 90 years 55% of the pollution we'll be gone. But there's also a negative part to it because if they store the waste of carbon dioxide under ground the land will start polluting. The author thinks that this is a good idea until scientist find another way. I think that this is a good idea but sooner or later they will start dealing with another problem that is land contamination. http://www.time.com/time/specials/packages/article/0,28804,1954176_1954175,00.html

Haiti: A Miracle Rescue Keeps Unrealistic Hopes Alive

Two weeks after the quake a miracle happened they had found a person named Wisdom and he was under a roof still alive. This miracle made hope to increase so that they believe that they can find more people that are still alive. Now they had found 150,000 bodies but I don't know if they are dead all or alive.
I think it was a real miracle to find someone alive when a roof knock him down still it was two weeks later from the earthquake. I hope they find many more.
I think the author thinks that it is very important to help the people in Haiti because this country had suffer a lot because of the earthquake.

A Person has been Murdered in Yale

A lab technician from Yale has been accused of murdering a student called Annie Lee with an age of 24. This horrible disaster happened the day she was going to get married. Her body was found in a wall inside the building where the lab technician worked. He has to pay $3 million dollars. The girl's body was buried on September 26.
I believe that this article is important because it shows that the world is a dangerous place. It is important to not trust any person. Another thing this shows you is that, you are never secure in Earth. The author believes there is a murderer, but, he doesn't believe that it is sure that the technician murdered Lee.
